On account of Celebration of Rashtriya Poshan Pakhwada, 2026 at CARI ,Bengaluru, Dr.Monica has given a talk on importance of Yoga and meditation in daily life and also taught yoga postures to OPD and IPD patients on 22nd and 23rd April 2026
On account of celebration of Rastriya Poshana Pakhwada , an awareness talk was delivered by Dr.Deepika and Dr.Monica from CARI, Bengaluru OPD on 21.4.2026 regarding play-based learning which creates a strong foundation for a child’s growth and well-being and to reduce mobile/screen time.
Mr. Satyajit Paul, Deputy Director General, Ministry of Ayush,
visited the Central Ayurveda Research Institute, Bengaluru on 6th April 2026. He
reviewed its activities and initiatives, appreciated the services being rendered,
and suggested further strengthening of public service delivery alongside research
activities.

"Sadhana Saptah" under Mission Karmayogi — a significant step towards strengthening
capacity building and public service excellenceon 2nd April 2026.
The Investigators Training Programme on CCRAS Standardized
Prakriti and Swasthya Assessment Scale, developed by CCRAS, Ministry of Ayush held
on 28.3.26 at CARI Bengaluru, that brings together esteemed Ayurvedic faculties from
various colleges of Karnataka. The event aims to foster hands on training on
standardized assessment techniques for Prakriti and Swasthya developed by CCRAS,
blending traditional Ayurvedic wisdom with modern research methodology, under the
project,A cross-sectional survey to study the distribution pattern of different
prakriti types across India -A multi centric study conducted across India.
Another significant step by CCRAS in promoting evidence-based use
of millets, an MoU was exchanged between the Central Ayurveda Research Institute
(CCRAS–CARI) and CSIR–Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore, to
undertake a collaborative research project titled “Development of Millet-Based
Dietary Supplements for Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.”
A joint project titled “Efficacy of Ayurveda Nutritional
Supplement (Ayush BL) in Children Aged 6–12 Years with Moderate Acute Malnutrition:
A Cluster Randomized Clinical Trial” was formalised through the exchange of an MoU
on 16th March 2026 between the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CCRAS–CARI),
Bengaluru; CSIR–Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore; and JSS
Ayurveda Medical College, Mysore.
Enthusiastic students from T. John’s Pharmacy College, Bengaluru
visited CARI Bengaluru today. They actively interacted with the scientists and
explored various research facilities, gaining insights into ongoing research and
activities at the institute.

Officer; Dr. T. R. Ramaprasad, Senior Principal Scientist; Dr. A. Jyothi Lakshmi,
Senior Principal Scientist; and Dr. Sudhir Reddy, Senior Scientist, from CSIR–CFTRI,
along with Dr. Sarbeswar Kar, Principal, JSS Ayurveda Medical College, Mysuru, were
present during the discussions. Ongoing projects and future collaborations in the
area of AYUSH Aahar, particularly focusing on research and product development based
on classical Ayurveda recipes, were discussed at length.
Dr. Sulochana Bhat, Principal Investigator of the Centre of
Excellence scheme awarded to the Institute under Ayurswasthya Yojana of Ministry of
Ayush attended AYUSH CoE Network Meeting on 14th February at Advanced Centre for
Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), Tata Memorial Centre, Navi
Mumbai.
The achievements of CARI made under the scheme in upgrading the patient care
facility reflected in the tremendous increase in the number of beneficiaries from
2021 onwards, research endeavours, capacity building for research among students &
professionals, IEC for general public, e healthcare initiatives, networking with
reputed institutions, branding efforts were well appreciated.
CARI Bengaluru is a major collaborator in the Centre of Excellence (CoE) scheme of
IISc Bengaluru, wherein Dr. Sulochana Bhat serves as one of the Principal
Investigators. This scheme, virtually inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra
Modi on the occasion of the 9th National Ayurveda Day observed on 29 October 2024,
is progressing successfully.
A workshop on “Understanding health and wellness through
microbiome research” was successfully conducted at CARI Bengaluru from 9th to 11th
Feb 2026. Renowned Ayush Chair, Dr.Sharmila Shekhar Mande and Dr.Tarini Shankar
Ghosh were the resource persons. 50 officers from various peripheral units of CCRAS
were trained in the workshop. Director General CCRAS, Dr.Rabinarayan Acharya
addressed the audience online.Deputy Director General, CCRAS Dr.Srikanth.N, Deputy
Director(Admin) Shri Deepak Kochhar , Founder & CEO Apollo AyurVAID Hospitals,Shri

Bengaluru visited CARI, Bengaluru on 30.12.2024 as a part of their induction
programme. They were given a brief orientation about the CCRAS activities and

The Quarterly Official Language Hindi Workshop organized at CARI,
Bengaluru on 27/12/24, Friday. Mr. Suresh Kumar, Research Assistant (Chemistry) of
CARI, Bengaluru delivered lecture on the topic of “Brief discussion of the
activities performed in the Drug Standardization Research Unit (DSRU) of the
Institute”. All the officers and employees participated enthusiastically in this
workshop.
On November 26, 2024, an oath was administered at CARI Bengaluru
to commemorate Constitution Day. This day marks the adoption of the Constitution of
India, which took place on November 26, 1949, and came into effect on January 26,
1950.

Celebration of Karnataka Rajyotsava
2024 at CARI Bengaluru
On 30th October 2024, CARI Bengaluru
conducted a lecture in connection with Vigilance Awareness Week and the meeting
was presided over by Dr. Sulochana Bhat, Head of the Institute. On this occasion
Sh. Jagdish Gowda, PSI, Talaghattapura Police Station, Bengaluru was the chief
guest and he addressed the august gathering emphasizing the fight against
corruption. It was an awareness building and outreach measure which aims to
educate about Anti-Corruption.
The Vigilance Awareness week 2024 is
being observed from 28 Oct to 03 Nov 24. "Culture of Integrity for Nation’s
Prosperity" is the theme of the year. This underscores the importance of
Vigilance in driving both the Organisational and National Progress. The entire
staff of CARI, Bengaluru administered the ‘Vigilance Pledge’ on 28 Oct 24.
Vigilance Awareness Week is observed every year during the week in which the
birthday of Sardar Vallabai Patel (31 Oct ) falls in.
